Our Process

Optimas manages and controls the supply chain and quality from the start of the mill-run till delivery. We hold the following stock with full traceability of raw materials and critical processes to drastically reduce delivery times:

  1. Finished stock for “runner” products in agreed stock levels (delivery time 10 days)
  2. Finished tubes to replenish stock of finished products in 20-30 days
  3. Semi-finished tubes

Below is an example of how we make one of our customer’s life easier using our proprietary product management and delivery process.

Situational Summary

A Fortune 500 oil and gas service company was struggling with meeting the demands of their customers. This was due to the fact that the resources dedicated to delivering product to the oil field were bogged down with all of the details required to get product to the field in a timely manner. To make matters worse, our client was not able to find the right technical talent in the workforce fast enough to keep up with demand. Our client also was committing precious time and capital to managing the supply chain that could have been reallocated into more productive and profitable endeavors. Therefore, the goal of the oil and gas services company was to reallocate capital to higher ROI projects, free up company resources to work on more profitable projects, and to cut lead times in half.

The End Result

After our client provided us a Master Services Agreement (MSA), the first thing that Optimas Energy Services did was to consolidate 70 products out of 316L (ICD, Rings, Shunt Rings) into 5 different tube sizes.By holding 5 sizes of semi-finished tubes in stock, Optimas was able to manufacture 25 different finished tubes in just 20 days, resulting in:

  • Significant risk reduction of slow moving and/or obsolete stock so that you don’t have to absorb the cost of storing it and moving it
  • Increasing stock turn to contain your costs and improve your profitability
  • Drastic reduction in lead-time for finished products from 70-85days to 35- 50days ex-works Optimas
  • Price stability
  • One dedicated project manager with significant industry experience to ensure the successful and timely delivery of your finished product
  • Logistics manager to make sure order processing, shipments, notifications, customs clearance, and final delivery are being done correctly and in a timely fashion
  • Bi-weekly forecast meetings with all global production facilities so that we can stay on top of your demand for product
  • Regular global visits to the facilities to ensure that the highest of quality standards and traceability standards are being followed and that our customers are 100% satisfied with our products and services

Current Status of Client

Our client is now able to reallocate capital and resources to mission critical projects that produce a higher rate of return, and has won more orders as a result of shorter lead times.
